That’s the magic of headcanon?
I remember playing around with the connection between Yugi and Yami Yugi in a set of drabbles actually- ironically, the drabbles centered on the idea that the puzzle, unable to use fate to wind up in Yugi’s hands, was forced to take a different host to get the two (Yugi and the puzzle spirit) to meet and therefore complete their destiny… Lest it become entirely impossible.
It was very fun, and writing the constant feeling of ‘wrongness’ that the poor puzzle spirit had is far more fun than I will ever admit. <0<
…I think I just admitted it. OOPS.
